Social Media & Infographic

MedForums is an online medical database built to hold lists of resources and reviews for medical education resources, both for physicians and medical students. It’s Yelp for doctors. I was brought on to complete small design projects, while implementing and managing their social media. Each month, I begin by first looking up upcoming holidays and medical events, organizing all of the potential posts on a calendar. Each daily post highlights a different resource on the site and their reviews. These posts are then compiled into a Google document, where I fully write out the posts and their source weblinks. For the social media images, I developed a design system that would allow and inform our followers to quickly recognize the different resources, making it possible to put the images together quickly in Illustrator. Each post has the name of the resource, the logo, and the category listing below, with an image of the individual resource or website in the background. My “image posts” system features the MedForums logo and showcases their typography, while the colors used are from the individual brands, highlighting their resource. With the posts ready, using Hootsuite, I schedule them all with their appropriate hashtags and mentions of the brand. MedForums has seen a large amount of success, with overall engagement increasing upwards of 200%. Click here to see MedForums daily posts.

One of the first design requests I was asked to complete was for a flowchart that would help med students discover and decide which medical specialty to pursue a career in. By creating the icons to match the MedForums branding, while creating an interesting layout, I was able to design something fun and helpful.
